Darrin Wassom
Hi, I'm Darrin Wassom. I'm a field recordist in Northern Michigan, and I've had tinnitus since 1989. It's a constant companion. I started recording in 2012 as a way to slow down, be more present, and listen past the ringing. Listening closely has become both a creative outlet and a kind of therapy.
Nature is my Jam is where I share what I hear: rivers, woods, shorelines, and wildlife. A lot of it comes from places close to home, like the Boardman River, the Platte River, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. I don't try to make it sound prettier than it is. My goal is simple: to preserve and share the quiet, honest sounds of the natural world.
Grab some headphones and have a listen.
